Almond Honey Dip

almond honey dip

When you’re a stay at home mom, you take for granted how many times a day your littles come up to you and ask for snacktime. The boys are home for Summer break but I work a lot of lunch shifts during the afternoon, so I’m not always here with them.

Since I’ve been working during the day, I’ve been keeping a lot of snacks in the house for the kids to pick at until lunch time while they’re with Grandpa. In an attempt to have them eating something other than Cheetohs all morning (which the youngest would live on given the chance), we’ve had a lot of fruit in very convenient locations around the kitchen. One of their favorites is apples or pears sliced and put with this almond honey dip.

Instructions
  1. Mix the almond butter and honey together first. Otherwise the spices will stick to the honey and won't spread through the mixture evenly.
  2. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg to the mix and stir well to incorporate.
  3. Portion out the dip if you're doing individual bowls and optionally: top with either a sprinkle of extra cinnamon, chopped almonds, or chopped unsalted cashews.
  4. This mixture can also be used as a spread for English muffins along with a few cherries for a very sweet breakfast treat.
  5. ENJOY!
